« October Snow Is Just Wrong »

Need I say more?  Snow.  The middle of October.  It is actually not quite the middle of October and an accumulation of the frozen powdery substance has covered everything in sight.  Too cold too early: I am not prepared nor am I the least bit pleased.

Regularly scheduled programming will resume shortly.  For right now, I am going to join the cat on top of the heating vent.  Our arctic dog, seems to be the only one enjoying God's sick joke.

Yeah...October snow IS too early!
But it sure is beautiful! And your dog too!

I used to have one dog who would just sit out in the snow, and the other wouldn't hardly go out in it. Then come summer, the one dog I couldn't get out of the water and the other wouldn't go in.

:-)

Just had to walk across the street to a meeting. I said the same thing to my assistant and she hit me. The "it's so beautiful part"! I don't care it really is pretty and I needed pretty today! :O)

Snow so soon is a cruel joke! I cannot believe how much your dog looks like our late Murphy (when I let his hair grow out which he hated). What kind of dog is s/he? Just beautiful!

Jen!!! It looks beautiful and would make a nice Christmas card, but I feel sorry for you (and Rocket!)

And can you please send some of that my way??

OMG, Jen...what gorgeous photos!!!

I know you and I differ when it comes to the cold and snow, so can I just tell ya...I AM SOOOO JEALOUS!!!

I would be out there rolling in that snow like a dog.

Speaking of which...your doggie is so cute.

I remember when I was a kid that it would often snow in late October. Now, we hardly get any at all - boo-hoo.

Please send some snow to Philly, ok?

Stay warm and cozy, my friend!

And to think my sister wanted to move to a state outside of California because they
"have seasons". I'm not sure she understands what that entails. *sigh* Crazy kid...

WHAT THE?! where the crap do you live.. must be wisconsin. thats the only place i can think of that God hates that much.

Hey Jen! I feel your pain. Personally, I think you should call Ron and let him shovel it all away for you in a truck...then he can take it back to his place.

I can already tell it's gonna be a loooong winter with him raving about all this slippery white stuff!

I'll send a prayer that it's all gone by tomorrow and that it's just a fluke. Altho, we've had "freeze warnings" here 2 nights in a row, which is evidently worse than a "frost warning". This cannot bode well for the months ahead.

Can you say "No worries, mon?"

Many thanks all for the support and thoughts of warmth. It is 23 degrees this morning in the beautiful suburbs of Minneapolis. Snow still on the ground and trees even though a lot of it has melted. The next three days forecast mid forties and rain. Really not a whole lot better. It is making me very crabby!
For those of you interested, the dog in the photo is Finn, our Finnish Lapphund. Rare breed outside of Finland. Made for the arctic weather of which we get a lot of here.

Went sailing over the weekend-had 70+ temp-did not realize you had snow...so sorry-please keep it in MN! If Bleu was still with us, he would have loved it just like Finn does, though. Sandy

Great pictures! Thank you for sharing! :)

As for the snow... I feel your pain! It's chilly here too! I find that coffee and baileys fixes me up right quick. ;o)

Wow, that is absolutely gorgeous, however I'd so much rather experience it from a picture opposed to an actual visit. I'm 90lbs and from Los Angeles, I'd die :(

it rains here and people freak out. No one adjusts their driving, nothing. It's so scary.

Yes, I agree much too early for snow. It has been much too cold altogether. No snow here yet... but they say maybe the end of the week.

Beautiful pictures.
